Hanto Union Jiu-Jitsu

The only Black Belt Jiu-Jitsu School in the Statesboro area!

Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art and science that emphasizes controlling an opponent in a way that leads to a submission attack.

We provide high quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction in a safe, welcoming, and attentive environment. Instruction is provided by Michael Renfroe, a Black Belt with over 20 years experience competing and teaching in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We also round out our Jiu-Jitsu skills with Judo and wrestling fundamentals. Michael is currently ranked under Garth Spendiff, a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We are a proud affiliate of Devine Jiu-Jitsu under Scott Devine.

Training at Hanto Union Jiu-Jitsu connects you to Rickson Gracie, and that lineage shapes the academy’s coaching style. You can expect instruction that values solid fundamentals, technical development, and a training room where students are supported as they learn. Whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or refining your game, the coaching approach is built to help you train with confidence in a safe and welcoming environment.
