About Pittman Jiu Jitsu Academy

Founded in 1993 by 6th-degree black belt and West Texas BJJ pioneer Klay Pittman, Pittman Jiu-Jitsu Academy is Lubbock's original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school and the 2nd school in the state of Texas. With a lineage under Carlos Machado and the Gracie family, the academy is rooted in tradition and integrity. We offer structured, family-friendly programs for kids, teens, and adults- focused on discipline, leadership, self-defense, and fitness. Our leadership- based youth program is designed to build confidence on and off the mat. With over 10,000 students trained, Pittman Jiu-Jitsu remains committed to empowering the Lubbock community through martial arts.
