History

Killer Bees MMA Fight Team was originally founded in Brazil in 2004 by Israel Gomes, Anderson Silva and Rodrigo Vidal. They have expanded to the United States with schools in Tennessee, Florida, and New York City.

American Killer Bees NYC was established in 2009 by two long time friends Luis Martinez and Jorge Chica who love the sports of BJJ and Muay Thai. Their love for the sport along with the help of Israel Gomes led to the first American Killer Bee school in Queens. In less than two years they moved to a bigger location to meet the growing demand for BJJ and Muay Thai instruction in the neighborhood.

Luis Martinez has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 10 years. In 2012, Luis received his black belt from his long time instructor Israel Gomes.

Luis is a great instructor who takes every opportunity to roll with his students. In addition, feedback is constantly provided to ensure that students are evolving at all times while addressing areas that need improvement.

Luis has produced great bjj practitioners and competitors of all ranks, as well as established his own MMA fight team operating out of 5 Boro Fighthaus.
